Battery storage in Germany and at F&S solar service
The introduction of the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) in 2000 was the initial spark for the energy transition in Germany. Since then, the expansion of renewable energies from various technologies has steadily increased, reaching 160.1 GW in 2023 (source: BNetzA)

The energy transition also marks the beginning of the transformation of the existing generation structure into a decentralized energy system. This includes, among other things, the restructuring and expansion of existing grid structures. In contrast to previous energy generation, energy generation from wind and solar energy is subject to weather-related fluctuations. Electricity generation is therefore always somewhat fluctuating, but the demand for energy remains constantly high.

Large energy storage systems are a key component in creating the necessary flexibility in the electricity grids. With these systems, energy can be stored when there is a surplus of supply and released when there is excess demand. Another advantage is their grid-supporting properties, which can effectively counteract grid overloads at certain points.
F&S solar service has been working with energy storage systems since 2016 and, in addition to technical project development and implementation, also offers various operating models for energy storage solutions. In addition to a pure energy storage system, which is operated as a "stand-alone", the combination with a PV system in particular offers interesting synergies.
